The 5-year-old personal care products e-retailer is increasing its focus on offline growth.

Fast growing personal care products e-retailer Birchbox Inc. has a new president.

Birchbox, No. 254 in the Internet Retailer 2015 Top 500 Guide, hired Philippe Pinatel as its first-ever president and chief operating officer. Pinatel spent the past five years at Sephora USA Inc. (No. 141), most recently as senior vice president and general manager of Sephora Canada. Pinatel is one of four offline store-focused hires brought on by Birchbox with the goal of expanding its offline footprint next year.

“Philippe is a proven operator with exceptional experience driving revenue for some of the biggest beauty brands in the business,” Birchbox co-founder Katia Beauchamp says.

The hires continue Birchbox’s offline push. The company opened its first bricks-and-mortar store in July 2014. This past summer, Birchbox held a contest asking fans to vote on three potential cities where it would open pop-up shops. The contest was a test run for two stores set to open in 2016, with Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles winning the most votes.

Top500Guide.com data shows that Birchbox has grown its online sales at a compound annual growth rate of 80.58% over the past five years, going to an Internet Retailer-estimated $96 million in 2015 from $5 million in 2010.
