Former eBay and Google Marketing Execs to Drive Seller & Buyer Growth Initiatives at Social Commerce Platform.

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 17, 2015 — Leading social commerce platform Teespring today announced two new appointments to its sales and marketing organization: Brian Marcus who joins the company as Vice President of Seller Growth, andMary Chan who joins as Sr. Director of Buyer Growth. Both Marcus and Chan will report to Teespring Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer, Robert Chatwani. The new leaders are responsible for scaling Teespring’s rapidly growing platform, which enables both individuals and global brands to engage with audiences and fans through unique products, with no cost or risk.

Backed by Andreessen Horowitz, Khosla Ventures, and Y Combinator, Teespring has experienced tremendous growth and momentum since its launch in 2012, shipping more than 12 Million products around the world. Marcus and Chan join Teespring as the company prepares for its next phase of expansion – making investments in marketing, seller services, and business development to accelerate buyer demand, increase its global seller population, and forge new partnerships.

Brian Marcus brings over two decades of marketing experience to Teespring. He previously served as eBay’s Global Director of the eBay Partner Network, one of the largest e-commerce partner programs in the world. Prior to eBay, Marcus was Head of Client Services at Google and a member of the original team that launched the Google Affiliate Network. 

Marcus is the company’s first senior executive hire in Seattle as the company establishes a footprint in this new location. The Teespring Seattle office will include a diverse group of employees, and will focus on building a seller services organization led by Marcus.

Mary Chan will lead demand-side growth initiatives at Teespring, leveraging various marketing channels to drive awareness, traffic, and revenue growth for the company. Chan brings over 10 years of ecommerce experience to Teespring, most recently as the head of consumer marketing for eBay’s Deals, Events, and Gift Card business. Previously, she managed a portfolio of eBay channels including onsite merchandising and email marketing. In earlier roles, she built growth marketing programs at Avon and American Express.
