The online retailer of printing and other services geared to small businesses rolls out an online tool that enables marketers to convert their print marketing campaigns into Facebook ads.

Vistaprint, an online retailer of printing and other services geared to small businesses, Wednesday launched a new tool geared towards small business owners called Social Postcards that lets marketers convert their print marketing materials into Facebook ad campaigns. Vistaprint’s Webs digital services division worked with Facebook to develop the tool.

Here’s how it works: When a marketer designs a postcard on Vistaprint, he can click to use the tool within Vistaprint’s design dashboard to create a Facebook ad. The tool automatically renders the postcard’s content into the structure of a Facebook ad, or a marketer can adjust the Facebook ad using the tool’s ad templates that highlight sales, events or promotions. He can then select his target audience, such as women between 18 and 45 who live in Florida, click to publish the ad and view the campaign’s results within the dashboard.

The tool aims to address small business owners’ need to develop consistent messaging between their digital and print marketing products, Vistaprint says.

Many small business owners already use Facebook ads. The “2014 Webs Small Business Digital Trends Survey” finds 65% of small businesses currently use or are willing to pay for Facebook ads. Vistaprint says Social Postcards should help streamline the creation of those ads.

“Online marketing is an untapped resource for many small businesses, and this tool makes it possible for small business owners to level the field against larger competitors,” says Scott Bowen, Vistaprint’s vice president and general manager of digital services

The tool starts at $24.99, which guarantees at least 5,000 views on Facebook. Vistaprint is No. 33 in the Internet Retailer 2014 Top 500 Guide
