Jason Goldberger, formerly of Gilt Groupe and Amazon.com, has been promoted to president of the retail chain’s e-commerce business and mobile properties. Goldberger will be the keynote speaker at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition in Chicago June 2-5, IRCE also announced today.

Department store giant Target Corp. has promoted Jason Goldberger to president of Target.com and mobile. Goldberger joined Target in February 2013 as senior vice president of Target.com and mobile from online flash-sale retailer Gilt Groupe Inc., where he served for two years as the executive vice president of Gilt Home, Gilt Kids and Gilt Taste.

According to Target, Goldberger was instrumental in driving a 40% increase in revenue for Gilt Home during his tenure. He has also served management roles at web-only housewares merchant Hayneedle Inc. and Amazon.com Inc.

Goldberger’s extensive e-retail experience led to his being selected to  be the keynote speaker at the Internet Retailer Conference & Exhibition, which runs June 2- 5, 2015 in Chicago.

In addition to a new role for Goldberger, Target announced additional e-commerce hires this week.

Casey Carl, currently the president of omnichannel and senior vice president of strategy will assume the role of chief strategy and innovation officer. Under Carl’s leadership, Target is planning to create what it’s calling a “center of excellence” to grow its data and analytics capabilities. Target did not immediately respond to an inquiry requesting further details on the center.

Jeff Jones, chief marketing officer, will also take on the additional responsibility of leading Target’s customer experience across all channels.

Target says these promotions are aimed at fueling the retailer’s “digital transformation.”

“Today’s organizational announcements reflect our continued focus on the guest and our goal of delivering an extraordinary experience to ensure that Target not only meets but exceeds our guests’ expectations,” says CEO Brian Cornell. “With these changes, we are even better positioned to continue to drive the momentum in our business in 2015 and beyond.”

Target is ranked No. 18 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. Amazon is No. 1, Gilt is No. 59 and Hayneedle is No. 91.
