Fruit of the Loom veteran Jeffrey Kuster is charged with bolstering the division, which has grown its online sales 4% this year.

TV, web and mobile retailer HSN Inc. is turning to a Fruit of the Loom veteran to boost the fortunes of Cornerstone Brands.

The company announced today it has hired Jeffrey Kuster as the new president of catalog and web retailer Cornerstone, which includes luxury retailer Frontgate, children’s apparel retailer Chasing Fireflies, and home furnishings retailer Garnet Hill. HSN Inc. is No. 26 in Internet Retailer’s 2014 Top 500 Guide.

Kuster, most recently Fruit of the Loom’s chief marketing officer, is expected to bolster Cornerstone’s growth, particularly online. In its Q3 filing last month, HSN reported an uptick in both overall and e-commerce sales for Cornerstone over the first nine months of 2014 compared with the same period last year. To date, Cornerstone has accounted for $521.1 million in online sales, up 4.0% from $501.1 million and $790.8 million in net sales, up 2.8% from $769.2 million during the same period last year.

Mobile is also quickly becoming a factor in Cornerstone’s growth, accounting for 15% of all sales each year, the company says.

“His background and experience in digital commerce, strategic growth initiatives and lifestyle brand development will contribute to the continued growth and development of our overall business,” HSN CEO Mindy Grossman says. “We welcome and look forward to his contributions.”
