The retail chain’s leader, Tony Truesdale, will retire next year.

Vitamin Shoppe Inc. needs a new CEO.

The multichannel retailer of nutritional products, No. 207 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, says today that Tony Truesdale will retire on June 27, 2015, after nine years of work with the company. Vitamin Shoppe says it is looking for a successor.

Truesdale joined the merchant in April 2006 as president, a job he held until February 2011, when he took over as CEO, according to his LinkedIn profile. Before Vitamin Shoppe he worked as senior vice president, merchandising and logistics, for Petsmart Inc., No. 362 in this year’s Top 500.

“I thank the Board for the opportunity to lead the Vitamin Shoppe over the past three years and am very proud of what the team has accomplished,” Truesdale says. “I have determined that this is the right time for me to spend more time with my family and pursue my other health and wellness passions.”

Online sales at Vitamin Shoppe Inc., a multichannel retailer of nutritional products, increased 14.9% year over year in the second quarter of 2014, according to the retailer’s most recent financial report. Vitamin Shoppe also owns and operates 670 retail stores, and reported that its overall sales increased 9.6% to $306.2 million in the second quarter.
