Michael Jones joins RetailMeNot Inc. as senior vice president, retailer and brand solutions.

RetailMeNot Inc. has hired Michael Jones away from eBay Inc. to lead its relationship development efforts with big retailers and brands.

RetailMeNot operates a number of affiliate web sites in North America and Europe that provide consumers with coupon codes or links they can use to get or find discounts online, including RetailMeNot.com, Deals.com and Deals2Buy.com. Retailers pay RetailMeNot a percentage of the sales transaction for helping facilitate the sale.  Jones was vice president of merchant development at eBay, a position he’d held for about three years, and prior to that was vice president of business development. In both roles he was responsible for enlisting large retailers and brands to sell through eBay’s marketplace. As senior vice president of retailer and brand solutions at RetailMeNot, he will have similar responsibilities, RetailMeNot  says. He will also lead RetailMeNot’s drive to connect online shoppers with bricks-and-mortar stores as well as online retailers, a spokesman says.

“Michael’s passion for growing businesses combined with his deep experience working with retailers and brands will help RetailMeNot continue our efforts to support our retailers’ customer acquisition, retention and revenue goals,” says Kelli Beougher, RetailMeNot’s chief operating officer.

Prior to joining eBay, Jones worked for 10 years at ChannelAdvisor Corp. in several senior-level positions, including chief revenue officer and vice president of business development. Channel Advisor’s services include helping retailers sell goods through online marketplaces.
