Monica Schwartz fills the newly created position of chief global digital and e-commerce officer.

Stuart Weitzman LLC, a designer shoe manufacturer and retailer, has hired Monica Schwartz to fill the newly created position of chief global digital and e-commerce officer. She started the job yesterday.

Stuart Weitzman LLC was previously owned by The Jones Group, No. 200 in the Internet Retailer 2014 Top 500 Guide, until private equity firm Sycamore Partners acquired it in late 2013. Sycamore has reorganized several former Jones Group companies into a half-dozen independent units, including Stuart Weitzman, Nine West and Jones New York.

Schwartz comes from designer jewelry manufacturer and retailer David Yurman Enterprises LLC. She built and led the e-commerce team there starting in 2012. Prior to David Yurman, Schwartz held multiple roles at eBay Inc. from 2007 until 2012, including general manager of flash-sale platforms and designer exclusives.

“We realize it takes an exceptional world-class talent who understands not only our technological needs but also what excites the public and would deliver an unexpected experiential online environment,” says Wayne Kulkin, CEO.

Schwartz is in charge of all aspects of global e-commerce and digital strategies for StuartWeitzman.com platforms in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Hong Kong, and a soon-to-be-launched site in China. She will be based out of the merchant’s New York City headquarters.
