The acquisition of SCC Services B.V., a supplier of I.T. products and services, builds on the I.T. products and services Systemax already offers in Europe.

Seeing an opportunity to serve a fragmented market for supplying I.T. products and services to businesses across Europe, Systemax Inc. has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the Dutch division of technology provider SCC Services from Rigby Group plc. Systemax did not say what it agreed to pay for SCC Services.

“The European I.T. market is a large, fragmented marketplace that presents tremendous opportunity for growth,” Systemax chairman and CEO Richard Leeds says. “This acquisition will strengthen our existing presence in the Netherlands, where we already have substantial operations, and allow us to offer our existing customers a much more robust service offering, including remote network monitoring, logistics and assembly, maintenance and managed print services.”

Systemax says Netherlands-based SCC Services B.V. will complement Systemax’ existing operations under the MISCO and Inmac WStore technology products and services brands, which sell more than 100,000 products through 13 B2B e-commerce sites with combined annual revenue of $1.1 billion under the company’s EMEA Technology Group. The Group serves  business customers ranging from single-owner home office operations, or SOHO, to large companies and government agencies across Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Systemax also sells to businesses and consumers in North America through its TigerDirect.com and GlobalComputer.com e-commerce sites. Systemax is No. 29 in the Internet Retailer Top 500, which ranks companies on their annual web sales.

Rigby Group, a family-owned company based in the United Kingdom, says the sale of its Dutch SCC division is part of its plan to focus its SCC Services I.T. services business on its core markets of the U.K., France, Spain and Romania.
