The online store represents Amazon’s latest move into collectibles.

Amazon.com Inc. has launched an autographed memorabilia store called Prize Authentics, the e-retailer’s latest foray into collectibles. Amazon, No. 1 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, says it launched the store with Creative Artists Agency, which represents sports and entertainment figures. Amazon did not disclose terms of the deal.

Among the items features today at the online store is a $189.99 signed baseball from Cal Ripkin, Jr., the Hall of Fame Baltimore Orioles third baseman. The store will sell items not only from athletes but also TV, film and music stars, Amazon says.

“CAA recognized that we are in a unique position to become a trusted provider in the growing memorabilia industry, and working with Amazon presented a great channel to reach millions of customers,” says Michael Yanover, head of business development at Creative Artists Agency “We look forward to combining CAA’s expertise in sports and entertainment with Amazon.com’s best-in-class customer service to provide fans memorabilia they can believe in, while providing athletes a new business opportunity.”

The store’s launch follows Amazon’s move into fine art via its Amazon Art marketplace, which launched earlier this summer. Earlier this year, Amazon launched its Entertainment Collectibles Store, where consumers can browse and buy some 350,000 collectibles from the worlds of film, music and past and present pop culture.
