OrderDynamics sells order management technology and services.

E-commerce technology provider eCommera Ltd. has bought order management software provider OrderDynamics Corp. OrderDynamics will continue to operate under the same leadership as a fully owned subsidiary of eCommera. Neither company disclosed terms of the deal.

London-based eCommera sells a cloud-hosted e-commerce platform and analytics tools, such as its DynamicAction product that continuously displays changes in profits, return on investment and other metrics to help retailers identify how their business decisions affect sales performance. The company says the addition of OrderDynamics technology will enable its retailer clients to better connect online and store selling by offering new payment, inventory lookup and fulfillment options to customers.

Michael Benadiba, CEO of OrderDynamics, which is based in Ontario, Canada, says its order management platform enables consumers and retailers to perform such tasks as:

  • Buy or reserve orders online and pick up in-store;
  • Fulfill web orders from local stores;
  • Check online the inventories of products in stores;
  • Combine customer profiles and shopping histories between online and in-store purchases;
  • Operate multichannel payment and loyalty programs.

“In order for today’s global retailers to be successful, they require not only a powerful commerce platform and decision analytics, but also integrated customer order management across multiple online and offline channels,” says Andrew McGregor, co-founder and CEO of eCommera.

OrderDynamics focuses on providing cloud-based order management platforms to more than 30 large retail chains in North and Central America, Benadiba says. The combined companies will have approximately 350 employees in four continents, he says, with offices in such cities as San Francisco, Dallas, London and Paris.

AlevaStores.com, No. 535 in the 2012 Second 500, reports using OrderDynamics for content delivery, content management, customer reviews and forums, e-commerce platform technology, site search, web hosting and web performance monitoring.

Immediate plans include introducing OrderDynamics’ Order Management System software into new markets by leveraging the local teams each company has in place, Benadiba says. “The like-minded cultures and ambitions at OrderDynamics and eCommera help validate the acquisition,” he says. “Their experience and investment will extend the global reach of our Order Management System software and accelerate growth in our existing markets.”
