James Keller takes over at the customer service and live chat company.

Shoebuy.Com Inc has lost its executive vice president and chief marketing officer.

James Keller, who had held the job at the e-retailer since September 2006, has joined live chat and online customer service provider Vee24 as CEO. His hiring comes as the company  moves its headquarters to Boston from the United Kingdom.

Shoebuy.com is No. 93 in the new edition of the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide, down from No. 90 in last year’s edition. Vee24 provides such services as live video and text chat, and enables retailers and brands to send personalized offers to consumers who have browsed web sites. Vee24 works with car companies, among other organizations, including European e-retailers such as U.K.-based footwear seller Shuh, Keller says.

Keller said he will start work as CEO in the coming weeks. “I’m passionate about innovating to advance the customer experience, and Vee24 is driving very exciting change in the ways that retailers can engage with their consumers,” he says. “”Building up U.S. operations and responding to the demand we’ve been seeing in the U.S. market will be key priorities going forward.

A spokeswoman for Shoebuy says the e-retailer has yet to hire Keller’s replacement. Earlier this year, the company hired Sean Scales as senior vice president of merchandising.
