Darlene Daggett joins the flash-sale retailer.

Flash-sale retailer Rue La La has hired Darlene Daggett as its president, responsible for merchandising, programming and member experience. Daggett has worked with Rue La La over the last year as a consultant.

Daggett previously held numerous positions at TV and web retailer QVC, departing in 2007 as president of QVC U.S. commerce after 18 years with the company. Since then she has worked as a retail consultant and as executive director of Ikatu International, a non-governmental organization she founded in 2008. The organization supports businesses and youth development in Sub-Saharan Africa.

At Rue La La, Daggett will report to founder and CEO Ben Fischman, the retailer says. “Over the last year, Darlene has been a close advisor and integral partner in helping us continue to infuse excitement and innovation into our merchandising and programming strategies,” Fischman says. “Her experience is uniquely suited to the daily theatre and curation that is the cornerstone of Rue La La.”

Rue La La is No. 84 in Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide. QVC is part of Liberty Interactive Corp., No. 7.
