Walker, who also worked for Amazon, researched e-retail technology.

E-commerce software provider hybris has hired Forrester Research Inc. analyst Brian Walker as senior vice president of strategy. He will advise hybris clients about how to best take advantage of e-commerce technology, his new employer says.

Forrester hired Walker in 2008, according to his LinkedIn profile. Since June 2011 he has held the title of vice president, principal analyst. He crafted research about e-commerce technology.

Walker’s experience also includes a job as senior solutions architect at Amazon Services, an e-commerce services arm of Amazon.com Inc., No. 1 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 Guide. He also held e-commerce positions at Eddie Bauer LLC, No. 98 in the Top 500 Guide.

“We are very pleased that Brian is joining our team so that we can benefit even more from his counsel and expertise that has been invaluable to us in his role as an industry analyst,” said Ariel Luedi, CEO of hybris. “The fact that Brian decided to join hybris, given his position of influence and leadership, is a huge validation of our success and strategy.”

In August, Germany-based hybris acquired Canada-based iCongo Inc., which also sells technology and services for online retail sites, order management and related services.
