Omaha Steaks and Wine.com pair for holiday gift shopping.

Online consumers can now enjoy a nice tipple with their T-bone. OmahaSteaks.com Inc. has started to sell bottles of wine and wine gift sets from Wine.com Inc. on its web site.

Omaha Steaks, No. 124 on Internet Retailer’s Top 500 Guide, describes itself on product pages featuring wine selections as a marketing agent for Wine.com, No. 248 in the Guide. Although consumers shop and pay for wine orders on OmahaSteaks.com, their selections are shipped and delivered by Wine.com. Financial details of the marketing arrangement were not immediately available.

Omaha Steaks president Bruce Simon says consumers often ask the retailer for wine and food pairings, and the new arrangement will help it provide that. The marketing relationship with Wine.com is the gourmet food retailer’s first with another e-commerce company, a spokeswoman says. Omaha Steaks has added a “Wine” tab to its home page navigation and wine is also featured in its gift center. Product pages state that the wine is sold by Wine.com.

“Especially with the holidays approaching, we see this partnership as a great way to help people enjoy wine with their festive meals or send a complete gourmet gift,” says Wine.com CEO Rich Bergsund.
