The retailer nearly doubles its international reach.

Consumers in 68 countries in Asia, the Caribbean, Europe and throughout the Americas now can buy from ToysRUs.com and BabiesRUs.com and have products shipped directly to their doors following a deal announced yesterday with logistics firm i-parcel LLC.

Toys ‘R’ Us Inc., No. 29 in the Internet Retailer Top 500 guide, says the deal nearly doubles the number of countries that the retailer will ship to from its e-commerce sites. “This new service allows us to expand the global reach of the Toys ‘R’ Us and Babies ‘R’ Us brands to countries where we do not already operate stores, including Brazil, Mexico and more,” says Milton Pappas, vice president of e-commerce customer experience at the retailer.

I-parcel not only will handle the sale, transport and delivery of products, but any customer service issues related to specific shipments and deliveries, Toys ‘R’ Us says.

Consumers shopping on either site select international shipping upon checkout. An i-parcel page then appears that displays all taxes, shipping and duty information, and costs, and consumers complete their transactions on i-parcel’s site, Toys ‘R’ Us says. I-parcel can convert the sales total to the consumer’s preferred currency as part of the transaction.

U.S. consumers can use the service in stores to ship products to international recipients with an employee’s assistance. Also, when placing international orders in its stores the customer’s billing and shipping addresses need not match. The addresses, however, must match for international orders placed on either e-commerce site, Toys ‘R’ Us says.
