The company also hires a former Digital River executive.

Braintree Inc., a payment processor active in e-commerce, has hired a Google Inc. veteran as general manager of mobile, along with a former Digital River executive to oversee international activities.

Aunkur Arya was Google’s head of VAS (value added services) partnerships for Google Wallet between March 2011 and July 2012, during which time he helped to tie the payment service with loyalty, mass transit and other outside services, according to his LinkedIn profile. His previous experience includes director of business development for AdMob, a mobile ad technology firm bought by Google in 2009.

“As our general manager of mobile, he will drive growth for Braintree’s mobile payment platform and lead mobile business development efforts by forming partnerships with key players in the mobile ecosystem,” the processor says.

Braintree also has hired Klas Bäck as general manager of international and payment strategy.  He previously was a payments consultant, and from November 2010 until May 2011,  was vice president, strategic business development, world payments, for e-commerce technology and services provider Digital River.  Bäck will manage Braintree’s international relations and seek to further the company’s global expansion.
