Niche retailer 3floz.com aims to make flying easier. The retailer sells over 600 personal care products, all three fluid ounces or less, making them approved for air travel. Co-founders Alexi Mintz and Kate Duff know their customers are tired of throwing out their hand lotion and aftershave at the airport in order to get past security. They hope that the 53 brands of TSA-friendly products they offer will make air travel a little less hectic. “We’re looking to expand our product base in the near future,” says Duff. “We try to make shopping on our site as easy and convenient as possible.” The retailer also offers dozens of product kits for specific travel purposes. For example, the “Beach Bag Essentials” kit, designed for a weekend at the beach, includes SPF 30 spray, towelettes and SPF 15 lip balm.
