Netflix has found a way to serve even children who can’t read yet.

Many toddlers are perusing the web these days and Netflix has found a way to serve even those who can’t read yet. Under a tab labeled Just for Kids, younger shoppers will find images of their favorite cartoon characters, including SpongeBob SquarePants and The Backyardigans. One click on a scrolling image takes them to a page of episodes ready for instant viewing or adding to the DVD rental queue. As for response to the Just for Kids feature? “It was a hit right out of the box,” a company spokesman says. In addition to reaching out to children, the online DVD rental and video streaming service implemented scrollers organized by TV show and movie category titles to help speed members through the selection process. The tool supplements members’ personalized selections.
