Home products retailer Crate and Barrel has announced it will promote its chief operating officer Sascha Bopp to CEO, taking over for Barbara Turf when she retires as president and CEO in April.

Additionally, Marta Calle, director of the retailer’s CB2 brand, will become president of the retail chain and online merchant. Calle will report to Bopp and oversee marketing and merchandising, Crate and Barrel says.

Prior to joining Crate and Barrel in 2009, Bopp was managing director and chief financial officer of Primondo GmbH, a multichannel retailer in Germany, Crate and Barrel says. Calle joined Crate and Barrel in 2000 as a product development consultant and has since taken on leadership of CB2, the furniture offshoot of Crate and Barrel geared toward young adults.
