MarketLive Delivers Optimal Data Protection for Consumers; Adapts to New Security Threats in Real-Time; and Simplifies Compliance Process for Merchants

San Mateo, Calif.–December 11, 2007–MarketLive, Inc., the leading global e-commerce solution for retailers, today announced that MarketLive v5.4 has attained Payment Card Industry-Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) compliance. Retailers using MarketLive’s platform are ensured that their e-commerce software infrastructure meets PCI-DSS requirements, a key component to overall compliance.

The PCI-DSS standard was developed by the PCI Security Standards Council to establish consistent data security measures around the globe and further ensure customers that their credit card data, account and transaction information is safe from hackers or any malicious system intrusion.

Identity theft, privacy and payment fraud are critical concerns for merchants and consumers,” said Barak Engel, chief security officer for MarketLive. “Merchants that comply with the PCI-DSS standard are protecting the security and integrity of sensitive customer data and protecting themselves from large fines and losses. E-retailers who standardize on MarketLive v5.4 can have the confidence that their e-commerce platform is compliant with established security best practices through the PCI certification.

All online merchants accepting purchases via credit card from any of the six leading providers (American Express, Diner’s Club, Discover, JCB International, MasterCard and Visa) must comply with the PCI-DSS. By December 31, 2008, all level two merchants (those with one to six million transactions in 2007) must validate compliance or face penalty fines of $25,000 a month and an increase in interchange rates. For more information about PCI compliance, please visit www.pcicomplianceguide.org.

We estimate that our compliance efforts will save tens of thousands of dollars for each of our merchants that fall into this category. It will also significantly reduce auditing efforts and eliminate the complexity of independently securing their e-commerce environment, continued Engel.

MarketLive’s approach to security encompasses MarketLive eCommerce software, the MarketLive hosted environment and customer data integration processes to assure that retailers on the MarketLive platform and consumers are protected, even as new threats arise. Because security threats are always changing, MarketLive is providing monitoring, logging, and authentication capabilities along with a Web Application Firewall (WAF). The firewall, integrated with the MarketLive platform, is a retailer’s best defense against security threats. MarketLive allows retailers to be sure that their e-commerce infrastructure is compliant with the highest security standards now and on an ongoing basis.
