Wily Technology has acquired Timestock, a provider of web application monitoring technology, and put former Timestock CEO Dave Chapman in charge of a new business unit that will help clients monitor the performance of web applications, Wily said.

Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.

Wily also recently appointed Melinda Watson, an expert in customer service programs, as vice president and worldwide general manager of consulting. Prior to joining Wily, Watson served as vice president of Services, SI Alliances and Partners at BEA Systems; and managing partner of the Americas Electronic Commerce Professional Services practice at AT&T; Global Information Solutions.

Wily CEO Dick Williams said the acquisition of Timestock will help Wily better serve its clients handle increasingly complex web applications. “The acquisition of Timestock is a significant step towards Wily`s vision to help customers optimize their critical business applications by managing all transactions across all environments,” he said. “As web applications become both more mission-critical and more complex, end-to-end intelligence about transaction performance is increasingly important to companies` financial success. With the addition of customer experience management capabilities, Wily customers will gain vital insight into customer transaction integrity, enabling them to find and diagnose problems to optimize the performance of their applications and offer better customer service. We expect this highly flexible technology to open significant new market opportunities for Wily.”

Timestock technology detects, prioritizes and isolates complex problems that affect the ability of customers to execute successful transactions in any application, whether it was built on Java, .NET, mainframe, or other technology, Wily said. As part of the new Wily Customer Experience Manager, Timestock technology extends the in-depth application visibility and diagnosis capabilities already provided by Wily’s Introscope web application performance management application, Wily said.
